About the Opportunity
Evergreen Talent Group is partnering with a leading contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) for a major Pharmaceutical project in Tralee.

This is a senior project delivery role with responsibility for the coordination, installation, testing and handover of complex mechanical and HVAC systems within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, design, construction, quality, commissioning and client teams to ensure systems are delivered safely, on programme and to the required technical standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Lead the delivery of mechanical and HVAC systems across the project.

• Coordinate installation activities with construction, design, QA/QC and commissioning teams.

• Ensure works are completed in accordance with specifications, drawings and project standards.

• Manage technical queries, design changes and site-based engineering issues.

• Support subcontractor performance and ensure works meet programme and quality requirements.

• Monitor progress against project milestones and identify potential risks or constraints.

• Coordinate closely with client, consultant and vendor representatives.

• Support testing, commissioning, validation and final handover activities.

• Maintain strong safety, quality and documentation standards throughout delivery.

Key Tasks of the Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Review mechanical and HVAC drawings, specifications and technical submittals.

• Coordinate installation of HVAC, ductwork, chilled water, heating, ventilation and associated mechanical services.

• Manage RFIs, technical queries and engineering change requirements.

• Support procurement and review of mechanical equipment and vendor documentation.

• Carry out site inspections and ensure installations meet design and quality requirements.

• Coordinate with electrical, CSA and process teams to resolve interface issues.

• Track punch-list items, defects and outstanding engineering actions through to closure.

• Support pressure testing, flushing, balancing and commissioning activities.

• Assist with preparation of handover packs, O&M documentation and turnover records.

• Attend progress, coordination and technical meetings with project stakeholders.

• Support validation and GMP-related requirements where applicable.

• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site teams.

Experience & Requirements of the Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

• Strong experience delivering mechanical and HVAC systems on large-scale construction projects.

• Previous Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences project experience highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, chilled water, ventilation and associated plant.

• Experience working in regulated or GMP environments advantageous.

• Good understanding of commissioning, validation and handover processes.

• Strong technical troubleshooting and coordination skills.

• Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder-management ability.

• Proven ability to work effectively with subcontractors, consultants and client teams.
